Whether you are considering going into the Air Force or just want a routine that will challenge you, it is a good idea to look into the workouts used by those in the Air Force. You will probably find that the results are more impressive than what you will get from the gym, as is the feeling of achievement when you finish the routine. Though joining the Air Force is the best way to get the training, there are other sources available.

You can find schools and companies near you that offer training routines when you check out Canada 411 or similar local search engines. This is usually the fastest way to find a range of places offering Air Force training, allowing you to quickly choose a location and get started getting in shape. You can also expect to learn discipline, teamwork and confidence when you choose an Air Force routine. While it will not be easy to complete the training, the outcome is usually worth it, especially since you should be left with both more muscle tone and the knowledge that you can complete any challenges you put your mind to.

Most Air Force training courses cost money, but you can usually get a few tips regarding the routine from fitness magazines and websites. Of course, you will not get the same challenge as if you were to take a course, but if you are already disciplined, you may benefit from learning some of the requirements of the training and then adding them into your own routine.

Be Prepared for Basic Air Force Training

Don’t be fooled by the word ‘basic’ in Basic Air Force Training because there is nothing basic about it! Air Force training is tough and needs you to give it your all if you are ever going to get through. Needless to say, joining the Air Force isn’t meant for anyone and everyone and whoever attempts to get in, has to be prepared for the toughest challenges ahead. Here are a few things that will help you make it!

 

  1. Air Force training is not just given in the field. Believe it or not, you will be spending tremendous amounts of time in a classroom! So be prepared to take lots of notes and study hard as this is crucial if you are going to get through.
  2. Be proud of what you are doing! You will often be told that you are not good enough but that is just your instructor’s way of pushing you harder. Most men who think they are tough crumble during the training so you should be proud of your efforts. It will keep you motivated!
  3. Take practice sessions seriously. You will be asked to role play in situations that may actually happen someday so treat it as something that is happening in real, you will be able to give it your best then.
  4. You will feel like giving several times during the training period. However, you should keep reminding yourself that getting through this eight and a half month training will change your life forever, and for the better too! So stick to it and you won’t regret making the decision when you earn your Airman’s Coin!

 

Air Force Basic Training

So you beat the odds and have enlisted in the Air Force, and the first challenge that must be met is basic training. Air Force basic training takes place at the Lackland AFB in Texas. There enlistees will spend five years training for an experience that will stay with them for the rest of their lives.

Purpose of Basic Training

Basic training is an individuals induction into Air Force. It is where trainees will gain discipline, a sense of teamwork and the groundwork knowledge you will need to successfully become an Airman or Airwoman. The instructors will basically break you down to build you up. Also, you will gain the physical and mental skills that allow you to become a highly skilled fighting machine. Due to the challenging physical requirements it is important to begin your physical training before you even get to the base so you will be properly prepared.

Day-to-Day Life

Upon your arrival at the base you will be placed in a group of about 45 other enlistees. After you have gone thru the haircut and getting outfitted in proper Air Force gear, you will begin the hard life of basic training. Days begin at 4:45 a.m. and don’t come to a close until 9:00 p.m. During that time you will have daily physical conditioning, dorm cleaning time, study, classroom work, and personal hygiene. Training topics will include flight drills, history and heritage, sexual harassment, military citizenship, core values, and others. Three well-rounded meals are provided daily along with regular medical and dental check-ups.

When its All Over

Just when you think you can’t take it anymore, basic training is over. Upon completion of training you are no longer an enlistee but an actual member of the Air Force. Graduation day is a culmination of 5 weeks of grueling work but also the burgeoning of a new career as a member of the Air Force.
