Opposites

When you look at the word opposite, you see two things: oppose, and site. Oppose means against. Site means a place.
Opposition generally does two things, depending on the circumstance. It either destroys or it builds depending on the severity of the opposition. Lifting weights is a good example. In the bench press, your muscles are opposing a force that wants to remain static. You move it. But if that stationary force contains too much mass, your effort to move the stationary to kinetic results in self-damage. If your potential energy is greater than the static force of the weights, you move the object and in the process strengthen yourself. Simple concept.

Site is easy. It is where you stand. No real controversy here. So it is the opposition that gives the word dynamics.

Opposition often comes in various positive forms and if met correctly, it builds integrity and wisdom that builds into a site of strength. This is a significant statement and a reflection of the U.S. Air Force. They are perhaps the most highly trained professionals when it comes to dealing with opposition. They are a force of integrity built on movement and strength. Constant movement strengthens.

If you want to create a place of movement that opposes stagnation and eventual destruction, move your energy into giving. It creates a lot more positive than taking ever could. Giving naturally weeds out loss. It is the most powerful form of opposition and its potential to become kinetic energy is boundless.

Sometimes negative opposition becomes staggering, even for the professionals. That is where Air Force Outreach comes in. Donate online: you give to strengthen. If the negative opposition is too great, Air Force Outreach can strengthen the men and women who are trained to meet obstructions and continue a dynamic strength to keep where we stand strong.

How Payday Loans Take Patience

There is a lack of patience and it is permeating throughout the world especially for those serving in the Armed Forces. Service men and women  are agreed and united on one thing: no one wants to wait for anything. And why should they?  Those in the Armed Forces serve our nation and protect it everyday, but they are always the ones who must wait. Many times these Armed Forces personnel due without amazing technology and the immediate gratification everyone else seems to have.  The customer service industry is taking the most punishment for the world of immediate gratification, and it’s unfair in most respects. Here a few examples of places where patience must be a rule for those in the Armed Forces.

The Postal Service: Many troops want to hear from those on the home front, but mail seems to take forever to get overseas. This delay can cause anxiety on both the soldier’s part and the family. If we can allow the postal service to do their job, we could reduce the stress we feel.

The Drug Store – Troops need medications too, but they also have to be patient. A pharmacist has no less than seven prescriptions in front of them at one time. Not only that, but they need to worry about potential drug interactions or a possible error in the entry process by a technician. There is a reason why wait times are what they are. For troops, they must be patient when waiting for their medications.

Payday Loans –  Many of our troops are struggling on meager salaries. Many of them are desperately trying to support their families while waiting for pay day to come. Payday loans could be a good solution for our Armed Forces who need some help getting through to the next payday. Even though these places are known for their ability to get you out of a jam in a hurry, that doesn’t mean that there is any reason to think that you should be out of there quicker than it took you to walk in. There has to be time to process the order and issue you a check for the money you need, so be patient.

Health Care –  Along with struggling to support families, our troops are many times forced to wait for good health care. However, they must be patient when going to see their health care provider. No one likes waiting at the doctor’s office, but sometimes there needs to be an understanding that doctors get caught up with patients.  While you wouldn’t want your visit cut short, neither does anyone else.   Patience must be practiced more especially by our troops who represent us as nation.

Everybody Needs a Great Deal

Have you ever seen the computer system of your dreams, just sitting there on a shelf in that display, looking like every dessert you wished you could eat or every incredible looking person you wished you could date — but just couldn’t? This personal “torment of Tantalus” happens to every person in the world at some point in a life. And when it comes to a computer, this can be an especially cruel little tease, since computer technology is always going to be bound by Moore’s Law. If you’ve never heard of that, it basically means that no matter how badass your computer is today, tomorrow it’ll be like a thrift shop tape player.

Computers are like dust in the wind. And so it feels really good to have that moment of triumph. You save up for a while, you do all of your research and you know exactly what you want and how much it is going to cost you. Then you stroll up, point to the rig of your dreams and say, “I want THAT one.” And just a short while later, you are hauling home your new pride and joy — and who cares if it’ll be obsolete in a year or two? For now, that baby is yours, and there is nothing to stop that rush of joy.

But of course, there is one way to kick up that euphoria just one more notch. If you can get a great deal on it, the computer of your dreams can be a level of ecstasy that is usually either induced by true love, a religious experience, or some really good drugs. If the computer of your dreams is a Dell (and why wouldn’t it be? They’re sweet!), Dell Coupon Codes are the kind of thing you need to be looking up. Find every advantage, and bring your baby home on the cheap!

Maintaining Eyeglass Prescriptions

Have you ever flown blind before? Or driven with a black handkerchief tied over your eyes, perhaps to simply see what the outcome would be? Probably not, and for very good reason: it would be significantly dangerous. No reasonable person would willingly place a bag over his or her head to see what it would feel like to drive without visibility.

But then again, perhaps you don’t need to. Maybe you are one of the thousands of people in the military who don’t regularly get your eyes checked, which means you might be driving almost blind. Or maybe you do get your eyes examined, but then you don’t recognize the importance of upgrading your eyeglass prescription.

Imagine flying an aircraft at 10,000 feet, but then misreading the aircraft’s instrument dials. A lot could be going on. You might be juggling incoming directions from a tower you are approaching. Another aircraft has just entered your flight space, and another one is rising from below you. Meanwhile, your crew is making suggestions and asking questions. And you forgot to buy those new glasses and you can’t tell exactly if that number on the screen in front of you is a zero or an eight. Maybe it’s a six.

On top of that, your copilot also forgot to upgrade his eyeglasses as well.

Suddenly, that $200 for the new set of glasses doesn’t sound so bad.

Eye-exams are important. They help you keep your eye-prescription up to date. Why go to all the trouble, however, of getting an eye-exam if you are not going to buy the new glasses?

You are probably thinking “I am just fine the way I am. I can see alright.” And you just might be fine. But maybe you haven’t noticed the increased irritability you’ve been experiencing. Perhaps you simply thought those headaches you’ve been having were caused by the baby waking you up at night. Or that your eyes were blurry because of fatigue.

Chances are, it’s due to eye changes. Keep on top of the changes, and all will be well.

A Military Education Program you can do at Home

If you have been thinking about joining the United States Air Force, there are a lot of things you and your recruiter are going to want to talk about. The first thing is, how can you benefit the Air Force as a member of its ranks? The first military education program you will go through may not even be inside the recruiter’s office at all. Obviously, joining any branch of the military is going to be a major life commitment, and a serious change to the way you have lived as a civilian. Going into any kind of job without doing proper research would be insane.

The first step you take into learning about the Air Force is to go online to their web site. Once you are there, you can do immense amounts of research into the different job descriptions, learn about the various aircraft you will be working on, with or in the vicinity of, and what the air force is going to do to you during BMT (the Air Force equivalent of boot camp). You would be wise to know as much as you can before you even step into the recruiter’s office, so that you do not waste their time asking simple questions that a tiny amount of research would have already answered for you.

You will have all kinds of options in the Air Force, assuming you do well on the ASVAB (their test to determine your career aptitude) and your physical. While they are not in heavy need of new personnel, no branch of the service would turn away a great candidate. Just be aware that you have an awful lot to learn, if you want to be an Airman (or airperson).

Causes of Marital Turmoil

Has it been a long time since you last fought with your spouse? Or was it just last night? Maybe it was as you walked out the door this morning to get over to the hangar where that patchwork needed to be completed on the tail of the KC-10 which just rolled in la

st night.

Whenever it might have been, sometimes it can become too much too fast. Arguably, sometimes fighting is necessary, but most of the time it is simply the symptom of something deeper and of greater concern.

Here are a few possibilities:

Money. Or would that be the lack of it? If money is the problem, remember, things can change. Budgets can be set and money which is being used for worthless items can be re-directed to important food or clothing budgets. Lower priced items can be substituted for the more expensive items.

Addiction.  This is a common problem amongst both newly-weds and people who have been married a long time. Sometimes it isn’t even the sort of addiction you might classify as an addiction, such as cocaine or heroin use. Sometimes it might be alcoholism, which is a form of addiction. Or maybe the root issue is addiction to late nights out, “hanging” with the guys.

Irresponsibility. Perhaps a cause of turmoil in your marriage is caused by irresponsibility, such as neglecting to pay parking fines on time; or failure to show up to court for jury duty, in spite of the government’s insistence that you are required to by law.

Violence.  The number of people who do not realize that hitting someone repeatedly is not acceptable is staggering. If you have a tendency towards aggressive behavior in the home, whether slamming your fist into a wall or yelling, seek help outside the home.

These four issues can be symptoms of greater problems within a marriage, but a thorough examination of each of them with your spouse can lead to tremendous results. It is best to discuss issues with your wife or husband before truly bad ways are set in stone.

The Dangers of Drinking Beer

Every blue-blooded American, male or female, has had a beer. Maybe even two.  How else could beer be a national pastime during football or baseball season? How else could the country support over 1,500 breweries? How else could America produce about 6 billion gallons of beer annually, and be first in the world in production?

Only by consuming very large quantities of it.

Sure, the U.S. isn’t the largest consumer of beer in the world; in fact, the U.S. was only ranked 13th in the world in per capita consumption in 2004.  The Great Red, White and Blue was beaten soundly by (lowest to highest) Spain, Slovakia, Luxembourg, Finland, Denmark, Belgium, the U.K., Austria, Australia, Germany, Ireland, and (the winner in first place) the Czech Republic.

But these statistics don’t diminish the dangers of drinking alcohol, even a small amount of it.  It seems to have become a well-accepted view that alcohol in moderation is fine. But isn’t that view, itself, dangerous? Isn’t it better to consider it a threat and to tread carefully where the drinking is occurring, rather than to simply assume it’s not a problem?

After all, who would want to get in a plane being flown by a pilot who has been drinking?  Oh, sure, he says he’s only had one. But who can tell? Have you given him a breathalyzer test? Were you with him when he was slugging one down at the bar? And (to add insult to injury) were you with him when he took his medication which might complicate the way he responds to the beer?

A lot of factors come into play once alcohol is accepted as a non-threat.  No one wants to step forward and claim responsibility when a vehicle is crashed into a tree or a mailbox, or when a child is run over.  So if you don’t want to claim credit for an accident, why would you put yourself or others at risk in the first place?

A Cause of Irritability and Disorientation

Do you frequently experience one or more of the following: fear, anxiety, seizures, agitation, excitement, restlessness, disorientation, increased activity, visual hallucinations, sensory hyperacuity, rapid mood changes, persistent deep sleep, mental status changes, decreased attention span, stupor, sleepiness, or lethargy?

And are any of these symptoms accompanied by tremors?

If so, you could be suffering from delirium tremens, which is caused by alcohol withdrawals.

Who would have thought it? Who would have thought that all those nights of going to the local pub with your friends would catch up with you? You certainly didn’t think it would so quickly. After all, you’re still so young. Or maybe you’re not, and you just never took a break from the “juice” long enough to suffer any visible withdrawals.

But now you have.

Sure, it’s been a week since you last had a drink, but you didn’t think it would be that big a deal. You remember when you were in high school and you used to go for weeks on end without drinking.

Well, times have changed. Now you’re in the military and drinking is a large part of the social scene, for good or bad. Frankly, though, it’s a large part of society in general, so you can’t really even blame the military. At some point you need to recognize that alcohol can have physical and psychological side-effects, even days and weeks after it was last consumed.

If you were just playing football in college or laying bricks at a work site, it probably wouldn’t be a big deal. But let’s face it, you’re in the United States Air Force now. There are responsibilities and regulations which need to be kept up, not to mention the need to simply get out of bed in the morning and get to work.

Is drinking really worth the risk of severe irritability, confusion, and tremors?  You might want to reconsider the idea about opening a micro-brewery when you retire, and think more about the subject of aircraft and logistics.
