Exploits of the United States Air Force

For good and defendable reasons, the military of the United States of America is widely respected, feared and revered all over the globe. This should not be too surprising especially considering the fact that this is the most advanced and sophisticated air force that the world has ever seen, and in caes you do not know, it is also by far the most lethal. Of all the wings of the United States military (the others being the Army and the Navy), the Air Force stands out as the most adventurous and exciting. This is not just an assumption but a fact that can be verified by reading the relevant accounts of history. Right from its inception, the most equipped air force in the history of man has been spitting fire, real fire in various theaters of war around the globe. At this point, it will be necessary to take a trip back in time and savor the proud moments of the most impressive wings in battle.

It was in the last month of December in the tension soaked year of 1941 during the Second World War that men of the Imperial Air Forces of Japan staged a surprise attack on the United States naval base on the enchanting island of Oahu in the state of Hawaii. The blitz-like attack would kill thousands of American naval officers in addition to destroying the USS Arizona. It was not until the August 1945 that the United States would a response and a most destructive response it was. Strategic bombers from the arsenal of the United States would drop atomic bombs on the now popular Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki killing hundreds of thousands instantly.

Thus, in a shower of fire and destruction, the world wakes up to the military marvel that is the United States Air Force which was to embark on other daring exploits with varying degrees of success.

The National Security

The national security is something which defines the strength and power of a nation among other nations around the world. There are three factors governing a national security, which are the military, politics and the economy. These three can manipulate the security of a nation to a great extend though it is not visible. The military is the only thing that most people are aware of.

The national security is not something concerned just with foreign nations. Most people just to the conclusion of other nations trying to rule you when the word national security threats come up somewhere. This is not the case though, because national security is a broader term. It can have a lot of threats from different areas.

Though threats from foreign nations are widely publicized, there are also internal conflicts that can act as a threat to the nation. For example, take the terrorist organizations. There may be very few countries in the world which does not have some sort of terrorist forces working in it. This is something which threats the security of the nation as well as the relation of the nation with other nations.

There are a lot of intelligent services required for the national security. Also, a country can defend itself only if it has economic, energy and environmental security. This is because these three factors contribute to the ease with which the armed forces can defend each other.

If you feel that you have to defend your nation by joining an organization, you have the option of joining the army, the navy or the air force. These three make up the armed forces which contribute greatly to the national security.

Democracy At War

International relations play a pivotal role in researching through the very facets of democratic vulnerability and the possibility of war between democracies. Philosophical outlines and assertions guide the very bottom-line of democratic leaders and their reform policies. Historical data analysis fails to justify democratic wars though post World War where liberal trait democratic nations fought against each other, the backdrop of increased international mobility has decreased the spectrum.

Debating on the virtue of democratic pillars its easy to conclude that restoration of democracy and expansion of democratic principles would alleviate war. The social and political compulsions to foster democratic flavor has a long-lasting effect. All the various resources that the democratic countries levy upon such as the armed forces can then be diverted to missions of higher value where general development of society can be nurtured. However the chrome of democratic peacefulness stands false wherein individual institution balances are calculated and national interests are levied.

Policies governing such decisions lead to war wherein imposition of democratic regime on nondemocratic states promotes falsification. Emergence of a vibrant unipolar dimension with America’s standing on a democratization of the world order has been a mix fruit of success and failure wherein on one hand its involvement in world war created a furor and establishment of new order. On other hand the Iraq war proved futile and reflected the unipolar dimension of world power.

As with the circumference of faith, internal rise is predominantly destroying the very pillars of democracy. There is always a prudence that runs that democratic nations. There can be no functionality to justify that war is indispensable or that no tyrant ruler be ever be banished from democratic powerhouses.

Personal Sacrifice Need Of The Hour

Many of us might still remember the history lessons that we studied at school, and how personal sacrifice seemed to be the one dominant theme among the great people whose lives are embedded in history books. Personal sacrifice is indeed an important aspect that has made mankind achieve all the great things whose benefits will be enjoyed by all future generations.

Within our own families, we will find plenty of examples of personal sacrifice by our ancestors, as well as by our friends, and the community at large. An important contribution of personal sacrifice for society is made by the armed forces – the Army, Navy, Air Force, and all the paramilitary and security forces in all countries and regions of the world.

The personal sacrifice made by these personnel is considered among the highest sacrifices ever made or expected of any person. These personnel devote an entire lifetime to ensuring the safety and security interests of their countries. They often stay away from their friends and family for long durations. Their stint could often be in remote areas and in difficult and in extreme weather. The personal sacrifice made by these people makes them really tough and disciplined, since only then they are able to achieve their goals for their entire country.

Many young people in the armed forces are even unable to spend time with their family immediately after marriage. The pleasures of watching their children grow, medical care of parents, etc are tasks that they miss out on, in their duty towards their nation. It is these people who are expected to provide the supreme sacrifice by dying for their country during times of turmoil or wars.

Tour Operators Make A Killing

Did you notice your local tour operator laughing all the way to the bank? Well, if you look around, you will find that most roads in town lead to tour operators. People seem to be packing their bags and looking around for places where they can get away for a holiday. Holidays from a few days, to even months, seem to be hot with the crowd these days. Even the newspapers seem to be full of gaudy advertisements from tour operators, and often pushing the other news to insignificance.

Full-page advertisements in the major newspapers scream at you the first thing in the morning – promising you that exotic holiday with all the exquisite ‘extras’ that no other tour operator can provide. Outside in the city, agents of tour operators might hassle you just for you to make a visit to their office, and ‘see’ what all they can offer. There is no escape from the tour industry, it seems.

While some of us might slog round the clock to make things happen, it seems there is another breed on this planet – the holiday crowd, which seems to be swelling by the day. This crowd supports an entire industry of tour operators, hotels, restaurants, cab services, airlines, and all the other associated aspects. The tourism industry even accounts for a major contribution to the economy in several countries. It is no wonder that tour operators are a happy lot, and transforming to achieve the status of an important industry at a global level. The increasing demand for holidays is fuelled by greater levels of earning among all categories of people, which in turn reflects the state of the global economy.

National security is important to keep the nation safe and secure so that the people in it can live peacefully and without worries. The national security forces are organizations that are authorized and assigned the task of defending the nation from the various that can arise in the nation in the form of external aggressors, terrorists, etc.

The national security is something which has a very broad meaning and implication. For example, if you take the defense mechanism you would find that the national security is something concerned with the protected of the nation with the use of weapons and artilleries. From a citizen’s point of view it would mean that he would have to abide with the rules and not make any threats to the nation.

National security is not just concerned with the maintaining of armed forces though they are very important in protecting a nation. The security of a national also depends on the economy. If it has a good economy there are least chances of being threatened. Also a good economy implies more resources to provide the defense forces.

It also involves the political aspects wherein the politics should be sound and strong. A deteriorating political system would only invite interference from the external nations who are waiting to get their hand son your nation. There may be other measures as well which would be used to provide the national security to a nation.

The secret police and intelligent services are also a part of national security. Each nation has a way to defend itself. It has resources and techniques that are known only to the most important people in the country. With good resources and a patriotic attitude of the people the defense forces of the nation can be building up and would help to protect its people from various threats that arise from various sources.

How Could we Improve our Military?

Our military is a group of humans which was designed by humans, which means that it is never going to be a perfect thing. However, there is a lot we can do to constantly push our way further and further towards perfection, both in the military itself and in our relationship to it as civilian citizens. For one thing, we can understand that there is both a need to question and confront our leadership and a need to support and aid our troops, and that these needs may intertwine with one another into bettering the overall relationship between civilian and military. For another thing, we can alter our thinking of the landscape and nature of war, and take it into a more modern paradigm.

Supporting our troops and questioning our leaders can coexist with one another. Supporting our troops means paying our taxes and continuing to work on our entrepreneurial efforts, especially when such efforts may be able to help us win wars more efficiently in the future. By contrast, questioning our leaders (and thus keeping them accountable for the decisions that they make on our behalf) consists of asking them why our troops are going to particular places, and when they are going to return. The more we dog our leaders, the more responsibly they are going to have to work with our troops.

A way we can improve our military itself is to move into the 21st century in more than just a technological basis. Our chief military minds still tend to feel as if we are fighting our battles in massive armies or fleets on large, open fields or seas. Modern warfare is not so organized, as guerrilla engages guerrilla and as anyone can move from non-combatant to full fledged threat in an instant. The romantic notions of war and combat are going to have to fall by the wayside, as we begin to think of war as less organized and muddier.

A Brief History of the Air Force

Early Beginnings

The United States Air Force originally began as the aeronautical division of the U.S. Army Signal Corps in 1907. After trials with balloons and alternative forms of air flight, the Wright brothers sold the signal corps their flying invention –the airplane, in 1909. Capt. Benjamin Foulois headed the first section of men that conducted experimental flights and in December 1913 the unit known as the 1st Aero Squadron. In 1918 this division was renamed the Army Air Service, at this point there were over 19,000 officers and 178,000 men that were included in the Air service, with over 11,754 aircraft that were being employed in their practice and maneuvers.

As a result of the Army Reorganization Act of 1920, the Air Service was declared an individual combat unit of the Army. Soon after in 1926, the units name was changed to the Air Corps. Even though the U.S. had sent fighter pilots to be utilized by its allies in WWI, as of 1935 the Air Corps was still a relatively small force.

World War II and the Air Force

World War II began in 1939 when Hitler began his assault against Poland. The Air Corps had methodically been increasing their numbers. When the attack on Pearl Harbor occurred and the U.S. was forced to enter the war, the Air corps began playing a pivotal role in transport, pursuit, attack, and reconnaissance missions. The U.S. aviation industry began to boom and soon the early warplanes like the C-47 Sky train, the P-51 Mustang, and the B-17 flying Fortress came to life. Soon the Air Corps had over 80,000 aircraft in its control and over 2.4 million enlisted men. The Air Corps soon began to dominate the skies in WW II and sealed the victorious ending of the war in 1945, when the Atomic Bomb was dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. In 1947, Congress made the Air Force its on separate branch freeing it from Army control.

There are various kinds of activities that are going on under the Air Force Outreach Program. The common man needs to know more about the air force and that is the main goal of the program. The negative publicity and negative news that people keep hearing about the military and also about the air force are not always true. The Air Force Outreach Program has been created so that the people get to know more about the air force and what they do.

There are various activities that are conducted under the program. The most important one is that the speakers from the Air Force Outreach Program can be asked to speak at any event that is being held. These kinds of events will be attended by a senior officer who actually speaks in the event and gives an idea to the public about the various activities of the air force.

In an event that is held on a larger scale, the Air Force Outreach Program can also be used to arrange for a flyover. Here the air Force uses some of their aircrafts to pass over the place where the event is being held. This actually connects the public and the air force. The common man always thinks that the air force is something that is far off. The flyovers and the speeches in events help in overcoming this distance and bring the two closer. This is in fact the goal of the Air Force Outreach Program.

Any speaker can be chosen and the topic can also be selected by the event managers. There are also a set of readymade motivational speeches that can be used by the speakers to connect to the people. This is an amazing program that has made a lot of inroads and has brought together the air force and the civilian population in many community activities.

Recruitment methods used by the military

The military needs a lot of people who join them because of many known reasons. There are many people who get discharged from the military every now and then. The military has to replace the people who are discharged. On the other hand, there are many times when the military is sent to various countries for war and also for peace keeping.
The military should have a uniform and unique recruiting method that will help to take in the best possible people on their rolls. Not only should the people who are taken in be smart and intelligent, they should also be physically fit to join the military.

There are various components of recruiting a person into the military. The most important and the first phase is the application phase where the people who want to join the military apply to become a part of the army. Their applications are all scrutinized by the committees. Once this phase is over, the officers who have shortlisted the names of the people then go through these names once again.

Once the names have been ascertained and the qualification has also been found to be adequate, the next step is taken. In this step, the people who are qualified to be part of the military are called for a physical fitness test and a face to face interview. Various questions relating to the military and other aspects are asked to these applicants. Once this is done, the people who score the maximum points are recruited into the military.

The military has a lot of applicants at all times because of the adventure and the travel that young people can do once they have joined the military. There are bound to be fatalities when the members of the army are drafted to fight in various wars, but this only adds to the adventure.
